Manoj Bajpayee and Daughter "Underwhelmed" by The Archies: Honesty Sparks Conversation

Actor Manoj Bajpayee is known for his raw sincerity and willingness to speak his mind, and it seems even movie choices for his daughter aren't exempt from his critical eye. In a recent interview, Bajpayee revealed that he watched Zoya Akhtar's musical teen drama "The Archies" for his daughter Ava, only to find themselves both rather unenthused by the experience.

"My daughter was watching 'The Archies' and I told her, 'I am not liking it'," Bajpayee shared candidly. "She was like, 'Okay' and by then I had watched it for 50 minutes." He further acknowledged that "The Archies" wasn't part of his own youthful years, and his own comic book experiences were limited to classics like "Motu Patlu" and "Ram Balram."

This honest opinion from a respected veteran actor like Bajpayee has sparked various conversations around "The Archies." While the film garnered mixed reviews upon release, it also faced criticism for its portrayal of the 1960s and certain aspects of the narrative. Bajpayee's comments, coupled with his admission that his daughter also shared his opinion, add fuel to the discussion surrounding the film's reception.
